The following
is an actual example of an installation.

CONFIGURATION:
System integration: The total system was developed by a Spanish system
integrator.
Hardware configuration: TEC only provided the B211 portable printer for
system integrator. other peripherals (Battery, Card reader, Handy terminal,
hand bag are etc.) were provided by other manufactures.
Environment: For use in hospitals or on home visits by Doctors
Media: Direct Thermal paper
How many labels/tags: 200 labels/day average
BACK GROUND:
As with most Western Governments the Spanish Government needed to make
savings in expenditure. One area chosen to do this was in the issuing
of prescriptions. Rather than just trying to cut the budget the aim was
to gain long term savings through the use of a more efficent system.
EFFECT:
The effect of this introduction was a saving of approximately $6 Million
(USD) monthly. The total cost for this project was approximately $18.6
Million.(USD) (The
resulting effect being that the project paid for itself within 4 months
and provided a huge longterm saving.)

A = Issuing
prescriptions printed with a PDF code containing the required medicine,
identification number of the doctor and hospital, status of the
patient(retired or not etc).
B = Payment to the pharmacies within 60 days on receipt information
"A".
C = Control Center sends the data*(on Medicine) received from Pharmacies
to the Ministry of health by modem.
D = The Ministry gets information from the mobile system on the
number of the prescriptions issued by the doctor.
-Any discrepancy in the data , such as the quantity claimed, the
correct medicine was given to the patients or not, between Doctors/Hospitals
and the Pharmacies can easily be seen.
