Comparison of the system before and after installation.

Before Installation

Situation:
Pre-printed labels are stocked each models and each language. During production, the serial numbers have to be mechanically stamped on to the pre-printed label stock and then applied to each model. This number also had to link to the Warranty documents

The following issues were the biggest source of nuisance :
1) We needed room enough to have two to three shelves for storing 47 different labels.
2) We spent a lot of time exchanging the labels for the various models.
3) We had to have an accounting system to track the usage of these different label stocks, and tie this in with the production schedule and the shipping terms.
4) We are under obligation to print a "production month" per half a year and year. We had to discard the labels left over when the period changed.
5) It required a lot of labor to adjust the numbers of the printing machine manually.
6) We had to control the production procedures in the center of the production sections.

After Installation

Situation:
We can print on plain labels the complete information. We print a label for each model.

Improved situation and Efficiency gains
1) We can store all the required labels in two cardboard boxes as we only require plain labels. Therefore we have saved a lot of space.
2) All we have to do change the printing content even when we alter models. We save a lot of time by not having to exchange labels.
3) We have reduced the time spent on print-ordering and stock-control for the labels.
4) The "production month" is automatically changed by the computers. The result of which means we do not need to discard labels.
5) Synchronizing with the production number in the warranty documents, we have reduced the time spent as we can print labels corresponding to the work by inputting the production numbers into the workstation.
6) We can carry out better production control and improve the working accuracy dramatically.
